Love the pattern but have not seen that kind of yarn where I live. Would that yarn be more comparable to a red heart soft or a little thicker like the Red Heart super saver?
Hi! This yarn is exclusive, I believe, to JoAnn’s. However, you can easily substitute any worsted weight yarn. I will edit the pattern to indicate that. Red Heart Soft or Super Saver will work great.
Thank you! I plan to make a few of these to pass out to homeless in the park this winter.
I’m making a few to for my vendor show and for the menfolk in my family. They always feel left out, lol.
I completely understand the menfolk feeling left out. lol Good luck with the vendor show! It’ll be great to have something for men there, too. 🙂
In round 12 of the small pattern, or round 13 of large, shouldn’t it say to switch back to CA?
I’m a beginner so I need all the help I can get!
I’m starting round 13 of the large pattern so I’ll change back to the main color and keep going. Thank you for the lovely pattern!
Hi! Yes, you should switch back. thank you. To achieve the “knit-look” with the contrasting color, you should switch back to the main color when doing the hdc’s. But the beauty of this pattern is that you can customize it however you want. Have fun!
I don’t understand I did row 12 and I’m on 13, I come up with 80 stitches not 72 and then on 12 I go back to 80? Then back to 72. I’m confused?
Hi. It should be 80 sts, not 72. That was an error on my part when I wrote 72 instead of 80. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
The men folk are my testers. I have “models” ages 15 to 79. And guys actually ask where they got certain ones! They’re my advertising! (Yeah, men comment).if they’re serious, I can work one out quickly. Or make one in each size. Does anybody have a “formula” of what to charge? ( years ago it was ex cost of materials, and depending on if personalized or count per hr rates…..depending on technicalities? ??

Hi,
Really liking this pattern…thank you for sharing it. Do you think I could make it into a Slouchy hat, if so, how would you suggest I do it? Many thanks!
Sorry it’s taken me a bit longer to reply. So, I think that by adding a few rows to the row where you stop increasing would work. Honestly, I’d have to crochet it myself to see the slouch happen. I’ll work on it and perhaps add the slouch option in the pattern.
Thank you for your reply, much appreciated. I don’t have a lot of experience and don’t feel confident enough to give it a go myself. If you do find the time to work it out and share with us, it would be truly awesome. I’d make make for him and one for me as I like the style a lot. Kindest regards.
