Yarn Pooling Made Easy Book Review and Giveaway

September 14, 2017 By Same DiNamics Crochet 2 Comments

We’ve all seen it. All heard of it. And some even attempted it. What is “it”? Yarn Pooling, of course. You know, where you take a skein of yarn that’s variegated in color and you create an amazing and unique masterpiece from it by yarn pooling or color pooling with your stitches. Well, Marly Bird, one of the pioneers in yarn pooling, put together a book of beautiful crochet patterns that involve, you guessed it, yarn pooling! And let me tell you, at first glance, all these patterns are amazing! Oh, did I tell you there’s a giveaway of the book, too?

One thing about me is that I love doing book reviews. I love reading and crocheting. Now, while a crochet pattern book isn’t technically reading like when you read a novel, it’s still a book to be cherished, loved, and in my case, reviewed.

I was pretty excited about the opportunity to review Yarn Pooling Made Easy by Marly Bird because I have loved seeing all the beautiful yarn pooling creations that swept across the crochet world a few months ago. I just never tried it. I had already seen some of Marly Bird’s creations when she’s shared images and posts on her designs, so, seeing them in book form was pretty neat.

About this book: Honestly, this book is refreshing and gets right into the good stuff, patterns! You get some information on how to be prepared for planned yarn pooling, some background on Marly, and then straight to the patterns. They really are quite that simple. I have to say, the two things that were evident throughout the book were: all patterns are labeled Easy, and; there is minimal weaving in of ends. Easy and little weaving in ends? I’m in! With yarn pooling, you get a gorgeous and effective design with little work at the end. That’s a win for me!

Gorgeous Yarn Pooling patterns that can be found in Yarn Pooling Made Easy by Marly Bird.

Marly has designed some simple patterns from the ever classic and effortless scarf to the beautiful, and comfortable poncho. You get a variety of designs to incorporate yarn pooling and never tiring of it. Marly has also made it super easy for us to learn more about color pooling, especially if you’re a visual learner and need to see things done. You can check out her YouTube channel here to learn more about color pooling. In fact, I’d recommend seeing several of her videos to learn more.

I’m also excited to be part of the Blog Tour for the release of Yarn Pooling Made Easy by Marly Bird. Marly is doing an amazing project giveaway; check out her Blog Tour Homepage to learn more and how to get in on the amazing project giveaway!
